August Favorites
How are we already here?
I’m not going to say much about August. It was a hard month for me and I’m honestly okay bringing in a new month! These are a few of the things that brought me joy/excitement/comfort/ease this last month!
You all know by now that I used to be a Middle School English teacher- 100% because I love reading. I read like a crazy person, but for some reason (many reasons) I have a hard time reading after I have kids. So I took a 3 year break from reading but have really been getting back into it in the last year or so! This book is one of the best books I’ve read, possibly ever. It’s lighthearted and tender and also pulls on all the feelings. I didn’t know that it was part of a loosely connected series, so now I’m on a mission to go back and read the other story lines!
I might have shared this one before, but it’s really that good. I was introduced to it in a SFM newsletter last year and I’m hooked. I can tell a serious difference in my teeth- they just feel cleaner! I know that there is a fluoride vs. no fluoride conversation out there and I honestly don’t know anything about it or pros/cons on either side. I just know that I used to use TOMs and I switched to this and it’s 10x better.
We’ve also already established that I am a brand loyalist. This is especially true when I find a makeup/skin care product that works. BUT I have been swayed! For the last 5 years I have used Hourglass Mascara exclusively. I recently got this Lancome Idole mascara as a sample and I am obsessed with how bright my eyes look when I wear it! I’m making a full switch! I even purchased another sample size to keep in my purse- and I never carry makeup with me. It’s that good!
Another tale of being swayed. We used to go hard for the Bentgo Kids lunchboxes, but Sylvie started complaining that they was too small for her lunches. This year I gambled and purchased these lunchbox inserts and they are perfect! They fit into a standard lunchbox and they are DEEP. I’m super impressed with them after two weeks.
I ordered these for Elden because he needed some solid colored shirts and they are SHOCKINGLY great quality. You never know when you order from Amazon, but these are thick and soft and they wash super well! There is a pack of brighter colored options too!
